Prior to joining Lightrock, Josie led capital formation and strategic initiatives as Chief of Staff and Investor Relations at Energy Drive Systems, supporting the company’s growth from startup to scale-up. She previously served as a Senior Associate in Energy Transition Investment Banking at Akereos Capital, where she focused on M&A and intermediate capital solutions for renewable energy companies and private equity funds across developed markets. Earlier in her career, Josie worked as a Vice President in Leveraged and Acquisition Finance at Standard Bank in Johannesburg and London, where she supported the formation of the bank’s Sustainable Finance team and executed one of Africa’s first Sustainability-Linked financings.
Josie holds a Bachelor of Business Science in Marketing and Economics and a Postgraduate Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Finance from the University of Cape Town. In addition, she has completed Level II of the CFA Program, and holds a Certificate in Sustainable Finance from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
