As Managing Partner & CEO, Pål Erik guided the formation of Lightrock, which was officially established as an independent platform in 2021, shaping its identity as a leading purpose-driven investor. He chairs its Investment Committees and, Management and Executive Committees, overseeing all investment decisions and the platform’s strategic evolution.
Prior to Lightrock, Pål Erik was the Managing Partner of McKinsey & Company in Europe, a Senior Partner at the firm, and a member of McKinsey’s Shareholders’ Council. Before assuming that role, he served in various leadership capacities, advising global leaders and organisations across financial services, technology, telecommunications, and media. Before McKinsey, he served as an officer in the Royal Norwegian Air Force.
In addition to his role at Lightrock, Pål Erik sits on the Supervisory Board and Audit Committee of Statkraft, Europe’s largest renewable energy producer, and a leader in global energy-market operations.
Pål Erik holds a Master’s in Industrial Economics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
